The Nobel Peace Prize for Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution (憲法9条にノーベル平和賞を) is a social movement whose aim is to push for the Nobel Peace Prize to be awarded to the citizens of Japan for maintaining the post-war Constitution of Japan, especially Article 9 in particular. This was submitted via the Embassy of Norway in Japan. The 60 Diet lawmakers came from 7 ruling parties, as well as opposition parties, indicating its cross-bench appeal.〔「憲法9条にノーベル平和賞を」『時事ドットコム』5th May 2014. 〕 On February 21, 2015, the Executive Committee for The Nobel Peace Prize for Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution Kobe announced that they had submitted a similar recommendation to the Nobel Peace Prize Selection Committee.
